If Diana Princess of Wales means anything to you, then you may want to pencil this one into your itinerary, as Kensington Palace in London was the Princess's former home and is still to this day a working Royal residence.
Kensington Palace was the favourite residence of consecutive sovereigns until 1760. It was also the birthplace and childhood home of Queen Victoria. Today Kensington Palace accommodates the offices and private apartments of a number of members of the Royal Family. Although managed by Historic Royal Palaces, the Palace is furnished with items from the Royal Collection.
The state apartments are open to the public by guided tour only (tours leave every fifteen minutes and last one hour).
How do we find it? On western edge of Kensington Gardens, mid way between the Bayswater and Kensington entrances. No vehicles inside park, limited meter parking outside. Nearest underground; High Street Kensington, Gloucester Road (then bus) or Queensway.
