So what's it like?
|
|
If the books are anything to go by, Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson lived at 221b Baker Street between 1881-1904. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's, and arguably literature's, most durable characters are more than ably illustrated and catered for by this intriguing London museum. The house was last used as a lodging house in 1936 and the famous 1st floor study overlooking Baker Street is still faithfully maintained as it was kept in Victorian Times. The Sherlock Holmes Museum is open every day (except Christmas Day) 9.30 am -6pm. Admission is around the £5.00 mark (as of Nov 2005). Museum shop and hansom cab rides available.
