One of the capital's most prominent landmarks and a world famous visitor attraction, the tower of London has for over 900 years dominated the city of London. Throughout its long history the tower has served as a royal palace and fortress, prison and place of execution, an arsenal, royal mint, menagerie and jewel house. Visitors are invited to discover the Tower’s long and eventful history, its buildings and collections including the Crown Jewels and Royal Armouries.
Elizabeth I was imprisoned here, Henry VI and the ‘princes in the tower’ were murdered here and two of Henry VIII’s wives were executed on Tower Green. What better grounding in bloody English History do you need?
Individual visitors go to main entrance at Middle Tower. Groups 10+ go to Middle Draw Bridge.
