Hurst Castle is yet another of Henry’s Castles. I don’t know whether the young Henry suffered any bad experiences with boats when he was a lad but the belligerent old King was fairly uncompromising when it came to reinforcing Britain’s mainland defences. Not a good thing for the Spanish, but a veritable treat for the rest of us and well worth a visit. Pebble Beach Restaurant is a gem of a restaurant in Barton on Sea.
