This hotel can get ‘mad busy’ at weekends with hen nights and stag do’s but the vast majority of revellers are soundly unconscious by midnight and midweek it’s practically ‘serene’. We could – and probably should – point out that there are some really excellent restaurants dotted around Newcastle’s quayside and on Friars Street – but given the budget you and your family clearly have in mind, room4u feels compelled to mention that there is perfectly adequate Tesco just around the corner if you get especially hungry.

For big, bright Girlie weekends tripping the light fantastic, games at St James’ Park, flights to and from Newcastle Airport, stottie and brown ale festivals it serves its purpose well.
