Pushing the boundaries of minimal but a practical enough option for business. Mixed responses from the budget Britannia on East Cliff.
Whilst the Britannia Bournemouth may fail to appreciate the difference between a ‘traditional’ aesthetic and one that’s simply ‘old’ and a little frayed around the edges, it’s not without its charms. Sitting just a crab’s crawl from East Cliff Beach the hotel offers free parking and a light and spacious ground floor restaurant with a hot and cold buffet. Leisure lovers take note: the heated indoor swimming is practical enough but lacks any imagination, the minimal approach just about stretched to its natural limit. There’s also a charge of £4.00 per session, which seems a little mean in the circumstances. There’s also a spa-bath and sauna.
Difficult to grumble at the price, terrifically located and the superior suites are ace – R4U
