Beiderbeckes is an enduring and wilfully decadent experience that bohemian types shouldn't miss out on.
Beiderbeckes is a Grade II Listed building that sits in Scarborough's beautiful Georgian Crescent, just around the corner from Brunswick Shopping Centre, Valley Park and virtually opposite Scarborough Train Station. The hotel is named after Bix Beiderbecke, the famous American jazz musician of the 1920's and boasts a stylish yet entirely traditional boutique-style character. This gorgeous Georgian Terrace is home to a AA rosette restaurant serving English modern cuisine and 'Cafe Marmalades' - a more informal dining area serving light lunches snacks and afternoon tea.
There's a couple of unusual and very distinctive perks at the hotel too including a Russian cocktail bar called 'Valdimir's Red Square' - one of the most eclectic haunts in Scarborough. The Lounge and Bar is a light, open space with comfortable sofas and stylish armchairs, opening out onto the Terrace which overlooks the park at the centre of the Crescent. Tel. 01723 365766 - R4U
Georgian Crescent is known locally as Scarborough’s “Little Bath” - affectionately recalling the town's origins as a Victoria spa resort. Bix Beiderbecke was one of the most influential jazz soloists of the 1920s
