Craigmore Guesthouse enjoys a terrific location overlooking the River Forth and is just two minutes walk from the centre of Aberfoyle. Views of Ben Lomond can be enjoyed from the front door.
It may be a little bit underwhelming where amenities are concerned and the rooms may not be the most stunning in town, but what it lacks in memory-mattresses and Internet access it makes up for in hospitality.
The owners of the guest house are always happy to assist in recommending the best pubs and restaurants, the breakfasts are good and they also do packed-lunches on request. It also enjoys a good central location in Aberfoyle, which is great is you want to shoot-off up Dukes Pass or spend the day mooching around the shops, museums and castles of Stirling.
It may not be the roomiest proposition out there but its certainly one of the cheapest bed and breakfast options on offer. The guesthouse has ample off-road parking and a large garden with a patio - an ideal setting to relax and enjoy the fresh Aberfoyle air. Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park are both within 30 minutes drive and it's only an hour’s drive from both Glasgow and Edinburgh.
If cost is an issue and getting out and about is your priority then the Craigmore does the job adequately.
