Cross Lanes was originally built as a private house during the reign of Queen Victoria and was converted to a hotel in 1959. The Victorian features and homely feeling have been carefully preserved to this day. In addition, the superb oak panelling in the front hall, older than the original house, dates back to the Jacobean period circa. 1618. It was rescued from Emral Hall in Worthenbury and carefully restored at Cross Lanes.
