Classy rooms and a heaps of period character make this a cosy and attractive base for exploring the Dartmoor National Park.
Tucked away amongst a cosy thicket of tall English Oaks and coniferous firs on the edge of Dartmoor, this family-run hotel provides an idyllic base from which to explore the dramatic National Park and the stunning Devon coastline. The nearby River dart offers a wealth of water sports including canoeing and kayaking whilst visitors to the park can look forward to a wealth of ancient monuments, forest walks and biking trails. The 23 bedrooms are a good mix of twin, double and singles, and there’s even a romantic four-poster bedroom for couples. Lot’s of character here: exposed stonewalls, oak beams and roaring open fires and the restaurant offers a respectable lunch and inner menu. The Dartmoor Lodge also has excellent meetings and banqueting facilities. Practical for the A38 – R4U
