There’s some pretty tragic, half-baked properties in Blackpool, that’s for sure. The good news is that Dragonfly isn’t one of them. It’s a simple enough affair, but then this is reflected in the room rates which remain competitive all year round. The rooms are smart and contemporary and some effort has clearly been made in equipping them with a few lush perks including free wi-fi, iPod docking stations and flat-screen televisions. The family room/premier room features a delightful king-sized leather sleigh bed, hi-definition TV and Duck Island toiletries.

There’s a bar and lounge in which to relax before hitting the Blackpool bars or recover after the hurly of the Pleasure Beach and the dinner menu is changed daily.
