If you’ve ever stayed over for a wedding, an anniversary, a stag or hen do, or even just needed an overnight stay during those arduous holiday drives, then odds are you’ve stayed at a Holiday Inn. You know the score by now: what they lack in terms of character the hotels more than make up for in services and facilities.

Rarely innovative, and possessing the kind of character more commonly associated with motels, Holiday Inn still somehow manage to tick all the right boxes: rooms with mini-fringes, high-speed Internet access, a large selection of channels and pay movies on TV, well-stocked refreshment trays and fully adjustable air conditioning. The hotel has been transformed from a 17th Century barn and features heaps of period features including lofty oak beam ceilings and some lovely dark wood furniture. Location-wise its also rather difficult to beat.

Ashford has been something of a UK travel hub for centuries and with the arrival of the international passenger station (38 minutes away) it is now a European communications centre too, with new lines running between London and the Eurostar Channel Tunnel (just 2 miles).

The the Holiday Inn Ashford Central enjoys easy access to Junction 9 of the the M20 motorway and the train station. The Eurotunnel Le Shuttle can also be reached in under 30 minutes.
