This stylish hotel looks out over Brighton Marina to the sea.
For those who regard Brighton as little more than a Soho-on-Sea, the cheerful vulgarity of the Hotel Pelirocco will do little to persuade them otherwise. This is a fiercely independent option whose bold take on the delicious cheesecake subculture of the late 1950s is likely to raise as many pulse rates as it does eyebrows. No, it's not for the fainthearted and yes it's difficult to imagine bringing the kids to such a post-watershed establishment, but it's a stunning achievement all the same. It's a kinky proposition, but the X-rated shtick and the kitsch, Cadillac-pink bedrooms are an absolute must for anyone ever stirred by a glimpse of stocking-top or floored by a pair of blue-suede rockabilly creepers. It's a not a complete burlesque show by any means, and the style is capably supported by substance. Here's the deal:
It may be marginally more pimped than a T-Bucket Hot Rod but this is an absolute joy from beginning to end with the kind of creative energy more commonly associated with greased-back music legends and devastating forces of nature. A fiercely fetish take on lodging - R4U
