No war, just plenty of Roses. Guests battle for this handsome property just a short drive from Lancaster City Centre. The New Inn enjoys easy access to Junction 36 of the M6.
This is a rather traditional hotel on the gorgeous western fringes of the Ingleborough National Nature Reserve - part of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. This time the conflict between Yorkshire and Lancashire can be reduced to one of a beauty competition, guests spoiled for choice between the wild and the wuthering Yorkshire Dales on the one hand and the serene majesty of Lancashire’s Lancaster City Centre on the other. The New Inn can be found few miles from Settle and just a short drive from Lancaster and the Lakes (just take the A687/A683 route).
This eighteenth century coaching Inn has been lovingly and carefully restored and retains much of the period magic of the original building. We found the Four Poster bedroom a particular treat. The room is a cosy and elegant marriage of exposed oak beams and 21st Century chic. It isn’t flash, but it isn’t dowdy either. The wood panelling in the bar is also a worthy addition and looks terrific against the stone tile flooring.
All bedrooms having full central heating, their own bathrooms, colour televisions, telephones, hair dryers, tea and coffee trays and ample writing space.
The Residents Lounge can be found on the first floor of the New Inn and is a great place to unwind with a drink – R4U
