A funky little guesthouse with a funky retro feel and some seriously silky touches. Check out those famous names!.
This funky little guesthouse has the kind of history that pretty much guarantees it a place in top 5 establishments for people of a certain age and with a certain edge. The owner of the property was responsible for the massively respected ‘Brighton Belle’ – one of the coolest clubs in Britain. How cool? Well Fatboy Slim, Boy George and Howard Marks were just some of the many regulars, if either of those names mean anything to you. This is a recently refurbished 4-star guesthouse.
Casually dismissed as a run-of-the-mill gaff with ‘feathers’ by those either too thick to appreciate the quality or too old to appreciate the style, the Oriental provides the savvy punter with a small but personal boutique experience. It may be basic compared to the likes of the nearby Pelirocco but it’s a sweet and understated experience all the same. Nifty little cocktail bar and a smooth, immaculate lounge provide an ace environment for a pre-club appetizer. Top-marks for effort.
