Wheelwrights Arms
4 star rating Church Lane

Bath Somerset BA2 7HB

Situated in a small rural hamlet in Somerset, the Wheelwright Arms has been satisfying travellers for the best part of two hundred years. Just a few miles from Bath City Centre.

There's one pub in Monkton Combe and this is it. The building dates back to the mid-1700s when local carpenter built it as part of worshop and home. It was subsquently taken on by another local man who transformed it into a Coaching Inn and it has been extended, and extended over the course of the years.

Today it has won the plaudits of both the Good Hotel Guide andthe Michelin and AA guides. Surrounded on all sides by the beautiful Somerset countryside, the hotel is quiet and rustic affair, graced by a plethora of flora and some genuinely ancient buddleia trees.

The Wheelwright Arms offers easy access to the A36 and there are train stations at Freshford and Avoncliff (a couple of miles or so).
