If it’s seaviews you’re after then this cosy bed and breakfast on the seafront is a very attractive option. Each of the guest rooms is smartly turned out and there are some really nice touches.

Whether it's the DAB radio, the large flat-screen TV (with Netflix!) or the lavish en-suite bathrooms there is a charming home-from-home quality and the owners have done an excellent job of providing 4-star comforts on a guest house budget. A good deal of thought has gone into each of the rooms and no shortage of expense on the furnishings.

Rothbury can be found occupying a proud location on the promenade and is little more than a ten-minute stroll to the Marina and Seaton Carew Railway Station. The only downside is that accommodation is provided on a room-only basis (whilst the kitchen-diner is refurnished), but it's unlikely to be a serious deterrent given the sheer volume of cafes, bars and eateries dotted up and down this particular part of the coast. It also may be cheaper. Parking is available at the rear of the building.
