Star and Garter
4 star rating High Street

Andover Hampshire SP10 1PD

The Test Valley market town of Andover lies just 20 miles from the New Forest National Park. The handsome Star & Garter enjoys a central location just south of Andover College on the busy and attractive High Street.

This former coaching inn dates back to the 17th Century when Andover became one of several main stagecoach routes in the area. In fact shortly before the canal route opened, anywhere up to 30 stagecoaches could pass through the town in any one day. The hotel, with its views across the market square, boasts a handsome Georgian façade and rooms have been built around the former stables and coach house. These rooms now encircle the courtyard.

Each of the 35 guest rooms are en suite with features that include power shower, bath and complementary toiletries. Perks include flat-screen television, free WiFi and tea and coffee facilities.

Breakfast is served daily in the hotel restaurant. Guests can look forward to a broad selection of dishes including roast dinners from the carvery (3 Roasts and 8 fresh vegetables can be grabbed from Monday to Saturday £5.99 and £8.99 on Sundays). The onsite bar offers a selection of beers including the hotel’s own Andover Ale. The terrace is terrific in late Spring and Summer.

The Star and Garter Hotel enjoys a good central location in Andover town centre. The railway station is about a 10 minute walk away.
