A budget hotel or guest house in Liverpool city centre is a big ask given the sheer demand for rooms but the Premier Inn on Vernon Street (typically around £60.00 a room) is terrific value for money. It is a basic yet smart proposition, low on thrills and spills but pretty full-on when it comes to service. You’ll find it just outside Moorfields Train Station. Albert Dock is just a five-minute walk down Water Street. The hotel boasts an on-site restaurant serving hot and cold breakfast items and there is a Tesco Express virtually opposite.
