Travelodge

St Marys Street Edinburgh City Centre Lothian EH1 1TA

This large motel in Edinburgh provides basic yet practical accommodation for the droves of businessmen and women who arrive in the city centre seeking clean and comfortable hotel rooms convenient for Waverley Train Station and the International Conference Centre, each just a few minutes walk away. Edinburgh is a rich and magical city whatever the occasion. Whether it’s the pomp and regalia of the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, which forms an integral part of the annual Edinburgh Festival, the dark, gothic mystery of the Old Town or the shopping opportunities on Princes Street, we guarantee you’ll want to return. If you are here for shows at Usher Hall, the Royal Lyceum or the Filmhouse then take a look at the hotels in Edinburgh's West End district like the Travelodge West End or ultra-trendy properties like the Le Monde Boutique Hotel near Princess Street.

The Star Villa in Edinburgh Old Town isn’t a bad proposition either. The house dates back to the 1800s and there are some lovely period features including a wrought iron staircase. The room rates are pretty reasonable too with single occupancy available from £35 and family rooms between £25 and £40. A freshly cooked Scottish breakfast is on offer and the perks include super fast broadband connections. The National Museum of Scotland and Grassmarket are just around the corner, making this an affordable and very practical city centre option.

The Aar Hus City Centre Guest House is also worth a look. The owners claim it is the closest (and also one of the cheapest) guest houses to Edinburgh Castle and Kings Theatre but without measuring, we wouldn’t know. The Aar Hus offers bed & breakfast in the South West corner of Edinburgh Old Town. Free parking is provided and the rates include a full Scottish breakfast. Nothing to too fussy here, just smart, clean and simple accommodation in an enviable part of town. You’ll find it at the beginning of Gilmore Place within walking distance of the centre. Hop on the Bus No.10 from Princes Street.

The online booking service is provided by our online travel partners and late deals are often available within easy reach of major attractions like Edinburgh Castle and lesser known gems like St Triduanas Chapel. Call the Edinburgh Tourist Information Centre on +44 (0) 131 557 1700.

The Ardenlee Guest House is just a mile or so north of Edinburgh City Centre and scores top marks as far as Room4U is concerned. This beautiful Grade II Listed building is situated in New Town just 10 minutes walk from Princes Street and Waverley Train Station. The actual building was at one time the city home of George Warrender of Lochend who served as an MP during the mid-Victorian period and retains may of its original period features. Hotel rates from £30.00 per room. Visitors to the City Centre can view availability by clicking on the hotel links. A compelling blend of antiquity and modernity makes Edinburgh a truly magical and eclectic experience. Further descriptions and reviews from previous guests can be viewed on the booking pages above, helping you make an informed decision on booking Edinburgh hotels and cheap bed and breakfast lodgings online.
