The hotel can be found on the northern outskirts of the village of Grasmere, approximately halfway between Windermere Keswick on the A591.
Intimate, oak-beamed and enjoying an excellent position overlooking the stunning Vale of Grasmere, with some terrific, unchallenged views of the fells. The Swan Hotel has been bringing guests back year after year and from just one visit, we are sure you’ll understand why. Warm courteous staff, a friendly atmosphere and a convenient location make it an ideal traveller’s rest. Within easy walking distance of William Wordsworth’s Dove Cottage. What visitors may not know is that this former 16th Century Coaching Inn was referred to in Wordsworth’s poem, ‘The Waggoner’. There is a ‘drying room’ for ramblers and mountain bikers, a ‘Walker’s Bar’ where dogs and muddy feet are welcome and some roaring open fires in Winter.
On the flipside the Swan offers no shortage of modern and progressive amenities too. There are meeting facilities that can accommodate up to 15 delegates and business support services such as photocopying and audio-visual equipment hire.
Guests can choose from dining at the Waggoner’s Restaurant or relax in the more informal but no less comfortable Green Lounge with its freshly brewed teas or coffees, light meals, and delicious desserts.
Green Lounge also offers some spectacular views of Helm’s Crag. Located on the outskirts of Grasmere, halfway between Windermere and Keswick – R4U
