The Bishopsgate is a brightly coloured Dowager House with excellent views across the across the Menai Straits to the moundtains of Snowdonia.
This brightly coloured town-house has quite a special history, as it was at one time the home of a‘dowager’ widow; the surviving matriarch of a rich and powerful family in Beaumaris. This would be the house that the Lady of the manor would have retired to as the heir moved into the principal family house elsewhere. And whilst customs may have changed since it was built, the building retains much of its elegant and genteel character. Bishopsgate House Hotel can be found on the A545 in the centre of Beaumaris within a minute or so of Treasure Island Fun Centre and the Castle – R4U
