Blue Boar
3 star rating Temple Grafton

Alcester Warwickshire B49 6NR

Traditional Old English Country Pub with a flair for food adds a tasty filling for stays in Shakespeare country.

The Inn’s location just off the A46 between Alcester and Stratford makes this practical for visiting Shakespeare’s birthplace and also where he got married to Ann Hathaway. Records show that William married ‘Ann Whateley’ in nearby Temple Grafton in the early 1580s. Rich in Tudor character and with many of the original period features still intact the Blue Boar has acquired a fantastic reputation for food. There are a total of 14 rooms available with children up to the age of six staying free of charge. The wooden beams and stone walls add a warm, authentic quality whilst the colour-schemes and furnishings reflect a modern and progressive attitude – R4U
