The Dog Inn at Wingham is a beautiful Tudor property just 10 minutes drive from Canterbury. The hotel sits in a pleasant central position close to the Stodmarsh National Nature Reserve and Tidal Lake.
This former coaching inn with its gorgeous Tudor stylings enjoys a central position in the picture-postcard village of Wingham near Canterbury. The hotel is privately run and has been lovingly restored throughout. The finished product is a sensitive fusion of medieval magic and savvy modern know-how.
Many of the original 13th Century features have been preserved, including in the heavy oak beam ceilings and stone fireplaces. There's also a tasty glimpse of exposed red-brick walls throughout. The eight rooms are supported by a spacious family suite and two Superior Four Poster bedrooms.
The Dog Inn also has a well respected (and well visited!) restaurant and is included in the Egon Ronay guide to the UK's best restaurants and gastropubs. The menus are based around traditional homemade meals and prepared using the finest local produce.
You'll find the The Dog Inn at Wingham opposite the church and just off the A257. Canterbury is just 6 miles away. A worthy of recommendation.
