Small but perfectly formed; like so many of the good things are in this world, but what Gregory’s Guest House lacks in size it more than makes up for in quality. The rooms are all lovingly and tastefully decorated to a very high degree, the colours, at time of writing, a warm, luxurious blend of gentle gold and romantic crimsons. There are some deft little touches like the Brita Water filter and the DVD and Freeview television – a testament to the Four Stars and Silver Award enjoyed by the guesthouse.

Gregory’s breakfast are prepared with no less care and affection, their hearty traditional fare setting you perfectly for exploring York’s magical medieval centre. They also cater for vegetarians and special diets.

For those with one eye on the shops and one eye on the horses, guests will also be pleased to learn that the guest house is only 5 minute walk to the world famous York racecourse – R4U
