The hotel’s wrought-iron gates have been opened and closed for some of the world’s most famous celebrities and dignitaries since it was first opened in 1929.
The site on which the lavish Grosvenor House Park Lane Hotel stands has quite a rich and dominating history. At one time one of the largest townhouses in the prestigious Park Lane district, the site was once home to the Duke of Westminster and his family before being handed over to the British Government for use during the First World War. The Prime Minister, Benjamin Disraeli lived just a few ‘doors’ up at 93 Park Lane. Grosvenor House now occupies that location, the original property having been demolished and what an enduring and fitting tribute it is. Stately guest rooms with luxury bedding and spacious marble bathrooms.
Dining options include the JW Steakhouse, an authentic London steakhouse boasting hand-cut selections of the best US graded prime beef grills cooked to perfection and crisp salads and fresh seafood. Richard Corrigan's award-winning Mayfair International restaurant serves game, wild fish and seafood as part of its delectable international menu. The contemporary setting is ideal for relaxing and entertaining friends or business clients.
