Gorgeous period spa hotel just off the A64 near Knavesmire Wood and York College of Law. Ten minute drive in the city centre.
Middlethorpe Hall and Spa is a terrific looking ‘William and Mary’ manor house set in twenty acres of gardens and parkland in Middlethorpe on the south side of York Racecourse. Built in 1699 for prosperous Middlethorpe master cutler, Thomas Barlow this splendid Queen Anne House still bears the Barlow family crest and retains much of the period detail of its 18th Century ownership. The 20 acres of manicured rose gardens and ‘Greensleeves’ parkland which surround the Hall are also the result of a remarkable graduation - from a rose bed and nettles to a handsome parterre construction. A vintage classic – R4U
