Room4u takes you some five miles south of Glasgow to the Orchard Hotel in Gifnock – an affluent city suburb, whose more celebrated travellers include Hitler’s henchman, Rudolph Hess who was locked up briefly in Gifnock Scout Hall. The hotel is pitched a little toward the bottom end of the boutique market, single rooms going for as little as £55 and doubles for as much as £80. In some ways the eight very spacious en suite bedrooms are something of an add-on, the property operating on more routinely as a Bar Grill establishment. The standard of the rooms though is excellent with the state of the art bathrooms worthy of particular mention.
