You’ll not be surprised to learn that there’s some pretty intense rivalry between the Premier Inn Blackpool and the Travelodge on Balmoral Road. The enmity isn’t physical by any means. The brand’s homage to 70s horror flick, ‘The Shining’ may have been banned on Children’s TV Networks, but the Ad’s star, Lenny Henry is no ‘psycho’, that for sure: he’s cute, he’s cuddly and he’s clearly meant to convey the cosy familiarity of the overall lodging experience. So if you’re booking in to see the erstwhile British Comic’s big lardy butt being kicked by Mr Sleep and the Travelodge 'ZZz Squad' you’re likely to be disappointed.

It’s certainly bigger than its Travelodge rival and there’s a Brewer’s Fayre Restaurant attached to the hotel which makes it ideal for young, demanding families and light, occasional drinkers.

All children under 15 years of age stay for free when using existing beds and kids also get a free full breakfast when dining with two paying adults.

If you are hoping to catch the new ‘Thrill-o-Matic’ ride from Wallace Gromit at the Pleasure Beach in 2013 then the Premier Inn Blackpool is terrific value.
