Saracens Head

3 star rating 38 Whielden Street

Amersham Buckinghamshire HP7 0HU

The Saracen’s Head Inn can be found just a short walk from the bistros and boutiques of the delightful Amersham Old Town.

The exposed oak beams in the bedrooms and the cosy Tudor character makes this a particular favourite with American visitors. This is a traditional English pub in every sense of the word; from the delicious home-cooked food served-up daily in the restaurant to the mighty selection of cask-ales they have on tap. Dating back over 300 years, history indeed surrounds you. Even the guest rooms themselves have been tastefully converted from the original stables and courtyard.

The bed & breakfast accommodation is at the top end of the usual pub-with-rooms option. There are 11 bedrooms in total: two doubles, seven twins and a couple of single bedrooms. All rooms are en-suite and feature TV, hospitality trays and mini fridge. You also get FREE wi-fi as standard.

Whilst all of the rooms boast those distinctive old oak beams, the hand-carved mahogany four-poster bed in one of the rooms adds an additional dash of romance. Ground floor accommodation (originally the old stables) overlooks either the courtyard or the garden.

Trains from Amersham Station go directly into London in less than 30 minutes. Amersham Museum just a few minutes around the corner from the Saracen's Head Inn on the High Street.
