This former 14th Century inn was once a meeting place for smugglers back in the day. Oak beams and open fires offer mellow reminders of the past and provide an intimate, cosy atmosphere for kicking back and enjoying a drink at the bar. The Star at Alfriston has 37 bedrooms including a couple of attractive feature rooms which take pride of place in the original 14th century wing. There's also a spacious Mini-Suite with a half-tester bed and additional sofa bed. The Star is set in the heart of the South Downs. Lots of character and good value for money
