The Travelodge Manchester Ancoats sits in area that played a crucial role in the development of the British printing industry.
Great Ancoats Street was at one time the home of the Grade II Listed, ‘Daily Express Building’. The popular ‘black top’ may have moved on in recent years, but the area is still a hive of creativity with the Band on the Wall music venue on Swan Street and the Frog and Bucket Comedy Club by the Ancoats junction. The Travelodge strikes a very sound balance where activity is concerned; it’s within walking distance of the MEN Arena and all the whizzes and bangs of the city centre, but on a quiet street away from all the pubs and clubs. The nearby ‘Koffee Pot’ offers cheap but excellent breakfasts.
The no-frills approach works well in this context yet sadly there is no on-site parking. The nearest car park is on Church Street £15/24rs
