Travelodge (Fort Dunlop) Birmingham

The best thing about this particular Travelodge is the location at Fort Dunlop, ideal for trips to Drayton Manor Park and Zoo, the National Exhibtion Centre NEC, the Belfry Golf Course and the Edgbaston Cricket Ground. Jump on the M6 Motorway at Junction 5, where the hotel based, take the 2nd exit at Bickenhall Roundabout just before Junction 4 and you are just moments away from your flight at Birmingham Airport, events at the National Exhibition Centre NEC or your meeting at Birmingham Business Park.

The overall opinion is that the Travelodge is clean, comfortable and good value for money. If anyone tells you that the walk from the car park to the hotel is not straightforward, then they clearly must have been blindfolded. The complaints probably arise from the fact that that the car park is located at the back of the building and Travelodge guests have to walk the five minutes around the front of the building to collect their parking voucher. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things especially when this generous Fort Dunlop property offers the 45 parking spaces free of charge.

Smart, presentable although completely lacking in imagination where furnishings are concerned but no worse than the majority of high traffic stopovers of its ilk. Trippers aren’t going to be inside a great deal – so why want anything more. Tel. +44 (0) 871 984 6312 – R4U
