Wolds Village

This is Room4U favourite and must rank as one of York’s most attractive - and really rather eccentric - family-run hotels. Whilst there are only seven guestrooms in all, each has been tastefully and uniquely decorated to a very high degree making this renovated farm dwelling something very, very special indeed. And just how many guest properties can boast a fine art gallery and a tearoom? Fashioned out of what might have been an old stable block using only the finest reclaimed bricks, pan tiles and timber – the artful blend of the old and the new is achieved in a rather seamless fashion, the lavish yet rustic character of the new sound-proofed en-suite bedrooms matching perfectly the existing Grade Two listed buildings.

Wolds Village also offers something a little unique, as all of the individually designed guest-rooms have been modelled on several distinct historical periods, from Tudor, Victorian, Georgian and Gothic to Art Deco, Art Nouveau and Edwardian.

Five of the rooms have magnificent king-sized double beds, some with four-posters and two rooms are twin bedded. The property is situated in the unspoilt Yorkshire Wolds at the centre of the East Riding of Yorkshire – R4U
