The Hillbark Hotel sits in a secluded location within 250 acres of stunning parkland with views across the Dee estuary across to the hills of North Wales. This magnificent Tudor-style house dates back to the mid-1900s when it was built for the soap manufacturer Robert William Hudson. This gives the Hillbark a character and a history unlike many of its rivals. The house retains many interesting period features: including a Jacobean fireplace from Sir Walter Raleigh's house, a set of William Morris stained glass windows and a pair of 13th century church screen doors. It was actually moved from its original site brick by brick in the 1900s. It's not the most affordable options but it's definitely worth a the extra money for celebrations and pamering weekends. Hotel rates from £280.00 per room.
